The past 3 years we haven’t held any of our famous Container Port Tours after one of the owners James Hargraves was tragically killed in a vehicle accident early 2020. His wife Jessica and the kids relocated to Australia after the tragedy. Previous to that we held individually ticketed Container Port Tours regularly on weekends in spring and autumn. We are excited to announce that Jessica will be in Hong Kong April 2023 to bring back these tours.

First stop of the port tour we’ll stop at the “Danger Zone” where the dangerous goods and river barges operate from and then drive right up inside the 4th largest container port in the world, where no other tours take you. You’ll view ships loading, unloading, refueling, and bring pushed by tugs as well as get an amazing opportunity to understand the big picture of logistics and life as crew on one of these ships.
After the port tour we’ll anchor at a beach for a lunch (and a swim if you’re keen) and then take a stop at the fascinating Ma Wan deserted village, where you can take a stroll through the village as if you’ve stepped back in time. There’s a great story to this!

The Container Port Tours have only ever been run by the family who own Hong Kong Yachting. They are often a sell out and over the years we ran more and more to cater to their popularity. Sadly James who created the tour and ran it for many years was tragically killed in a car accident in 2020. His wife is coming back to Hong Kong to continue the tour in his honor.
Although James passed away in 2020 we can’t delete James from the website yet as our main tour guide. The Container Port Tour was his baby and he was the driver of the Tours as he was a specialist in the industry and owner of Hong Kong Yachting. His tour was very highly rated by all who joined and met him.
